“Lessons from the Holocaust” in Lisburn, Northern Ireland

Facing History and Ourselves’ “Lessons from the Holocaust” course was featured on the Lisburn, Northern Ireland, City Council’s website. The six-session professional development course for educators, presented in partnership with the WAVE Trauma Centre and the Lisburn City Council, explores lessons learned from violence and genocide and begins Tuesday, 5 March at the Lisburn Civic Centre.

"Facing History and Ourselves is an education programme that is taught throughout the world. Some of the schools in the Lisburn area are already running the programme and now this is a chance to introduce the courses to the wider public,” Councillor Thomas Beckett, Chairman of the Council’s Leisure Services Committee said in a recent press release. “This is also a great opportunity for parents to engage in an important aspect of education and the courses will be of benefit to everyone who attends. With themes such as ‘How does History Shape our Culture’ and ‘When Good People Do Nothing-The Bystander’ the courses are sure to be thought-provoking, interesting and worthwhile."
